Scarlett Johansson Taking Over for Emily Blunt?

I really hope this doesn't pan out, but I fear it might.

Last month, Emily Blunt was offered the role of the villainous Black Widow in Marvel's Iron Man 2. Only problem is, she's contractually obligated to co-star in Fox's Gulliver's Travels, which shoots at the same time.

They've tried to make the schedules work, at one point even being "optimistic" about it, but yesterday news rolled around that the producers of Iron Man 2 were eying Scarlett Johansson for the role...which might mean Blunt is now out of the running.

The problem is, Blunt could probably successfully play a leather-clad evil Russian spy. Johansson is not that good of an actress, and she gets more annoying with each role. Rent Vicky Cristina Barcelona and compare her to Rebecca Hall and Penelope Cruz. Then if you really want to groan, see The Spirit. Or better yet, don't.

The wild card in the mix is Dollhouse's Eliza Dushku, who volunteered on Howard Stern that she'd be great for the role. She'd probably be better, but at this point she might be labeled too much as a "TV star".
