Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes

You can't really escape from Robert Downey Jr. in the news these days. He's currently shooting a slightly revisionist, action-oriented version of Sherlock Holmes with director Guy Ritchie.

(Ritchie, of course, recently broke up with Madonna, who's having an affair with A-Rod. Ritchie's movie RocknRolla came out last weekend at the suspiciously perfect time to capitalize on the gossip, but it tanked here in the U.S. So it goes.)

Downey stars as the title sleuth and Jude Law is the sidekick Watson. Rachel McAdams is the love interest, and for the two of you who saw Body of Lies, that cool guy who played the head of Jordanian intelligence (Mark Strong) is the bad guy.

Set photos have been popping up, including these fun ones of Law in a crowd, Downey in the middle of an action scene getting chased by a thug, and one of Downey after possibly eating something very spicy:
