Patrick Swayze: recovering and in a new TV show?

According to the New York Times via ET, Patrick Swayze will star in his own television series on A&E.

At the risk of sounding facile, what about that whole pancreatic cancer thing? Apparently he's making a solid recovery: "based on reports from Mr. Swayze and his doctors, [A&E] had made the decision to go forward with the series," according to the Times.

If that's true, it's great news and we wish him and his series the best. Called "The Beast," the show centers on an FBI agent with a troubled past who doesn't play by the rules. Not the most original plot in town, but Swayze could pull it off.
