News you may care about from Comic-Con

I went to San Diego's Comic-Con over the weekend, which might explain the lack of posts. For those of you who don't know, it's an annual convention of geeks where hundreds of thousands of geeks act like geeks. And since Hollywood is very, very scared of geeks, they trot out their big directors and stars to show the geeks exclusive footage and new trailers for all their movies.

I have no misconceptions: most of the news and footage that comes out of Comic-Con would not interest readers of a Hollywood/celebrity blog. But here are some occasional tidbits that might:

-6,500 teenage girls -- and their moms -- screamed when, at a Summit Entertainment panel, the entire cast of the upcoming movie Twilight was brought out on stage. As best as I could figure out through the nonstop screaming, the guy below plays a vampire and is just about the hottest thing on the planet. Agree/disagree?

-The lovable Chuck -- which, if you haven't seen it, is a TV show both geeks and females can love -- debuted a lengthy look at Season 2. It's a lighthearted action/rom-com, only, you know, better than most things described as a lighthearted action/rom-com would be:

-Star Wars: The Clone Wars...actually, never mind.

-News broke during the convention that Ridley Scott's Nottingham -- starring Russell Crowe as a good-guy Sheriff of Nottingham -- has been indefinitely delayed.

-There's a movie called Watchmen coming out in March of '09 that...actually, you wouldn't find this interesting either.

So that was Comic-Con! Hopefully I'll go next year so I can bring back an article just as fruitful.
