Moonlight Goes Dark

Moonlight, that vampire detective show, was officially canceled by CBS today, despite a few weeks of rumors saying that it would eke out a renewal. The 7-8 million viewers it nabbed each week couldn't even compare to CBS's crime dramas, even with the lowered expectations that come with Friday shows.

Moonlight had problems right from the beginning - before the show even aired, it went through an almost complete re-working, which included firing the entire main cast except lead Alex O'Loughlin. The cast they ended up with was pretty good: Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars played a vampire friend, while Sophia Myles played the love interest. (Guys, watch Myles in Mister Foe when it comes out in the U.S. this September and thank me later.)

Overall, it was cheesy and lame. But...in a fun way. If you were in the right mood. Sorry; I'm trying to think of something nice to say. We'll miss you, Moonlight. Kinda.
