Letoya Luckett: A lesson in sweet revenge

It may have taken a while, but more than a half-decade after being unceremoniously booted from Destiny's Child, Letoya Luckett finds her new album opening in the top spot on the Billboard charts.

R&B singer Letoya Luckett’s solo debut album, Letoya, sold 165,000 copies (Nielsen SoundScan) this week and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1.

I can't pretend to be a fan of the music, but I do enjoy a little karma. It seemed at the time (way back in 2000) that her ouster was rather sudden and without cause. You have to respect her for soldiering on while her former band did so well without her. And while it's spelled slightly different, you also have to respect her attempt to wrest the one-word name "Letoya" away from the Jackson clan.

   First off, LeTOYA is not the one who goes into the interview talking about Beyonce the reporter is always the one who asks her about there past relationship because thats what people want to hear. LeToya is very beautiful and very talented and has proven she can have anything she wants. The only thing Beyonce has on LeTOYA is time. Due to there situation and LeTOYA EXIT from the group she had to start over, Beyonce didnt loose her career but LeToya did and still came back on TOP. LeTOYA will have much success and shes not comparing herself to Beyonce the Media is. The only thing shes doing is fullfilling her dream and proving the haters wrong. And all u Beyonce freaks cant stand it because she loss everything and came back not blasting them but showing them love. She is truly an inspiration and is admired by many.

   ^^^^You have got to be kidding me with the part about the only thing Beyonce has on Letoya is Time..lol. Please, not even. I could name 100748326 things Bee has on Letoya, and it ain't time. 1st of all Bee has wayyyyyy better vocals, stage presence, looks, etc. Letoya can never ever sing Like Bee. Her voice is ok. It tends to get weak at times, which I could never say about Bee. They definitely have no Comparison.

   I think Letoya is very talented and I had always been more fond of her than any of the other group members of the original Destiny Child group.

   I am sadden and angry that her CD/album is not getting the indepth coverage and play that is justly deserve.....I mean come on, have you all listened to the whole album...it is really great work, from someone who was always seen in the back ground.

   And we all know why she was made to stay in the background.

   Letoya, keep up the awesome work, you have many fans out here, who have been waiting, and now wanting even more.
