Leo DiCaprio for Captain America?

Following rumors that Brad Pitt is being courted for Thor, word broke today that Leonardo DiCaprio is "at the top of the list" for the lead role in Captain America.

What does this mean? In all likelihood, not one darn thing. He's at the top of the wish list, which studios make for pretty much every film in development, ever. Naturally, they don't put guys like Scott Speedman at the top of the list; they put Cruise, DiCaprio, Pitt, Hanks, Smith, etc. It reminds me of a scene from Entourage, back when it was good:

Eric: What if Cruise passes?
Ari: Then they go to Brad Pitt. He passes, they go to Keanu Reeves, and on down the list.
Eric: How do we get Vince on the list?
Ari: You do Aquaman, you stupid f***.

Still, as I always say, it's fun to speculate. DiCaprio would certainly make an interesting superhero...
