Juno's Diablo Cody jumpstarts a TV show

Photo Licensing by GumGum | © PacificCoastNews

Love her or hate her, Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody is suddenly a major Hollywood presence. Megan Fox is currently shooting her original screenplay Jennifer's Body, and now Showtime has officially picked up her TV series, The United States of Tara.

The series stars Toni Collette (the mom in Little Miss Sunshine and The Sixth Sense) in the title role as a wife and mother with dissociative identity disorder, a.k.a. multiple personality disorder. John Corbett (from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) plays her husband.

The series is getting a twelve-episode first season. I don't get Showtime, but I'll check it out on DVD as long as no one ever, ever, ever says "honest to blog."
