Jon Gosselin, Kate Gosselin, TLC Officially Destroy the Lives of Eight Children

This coming Monday, Jon & Kate Plus Eight was going to have a special Mother's Day-themed episode (a day after Father's Day, oddly enough). But not anymore. It's been preempted by this special:

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the special announcement is going to be, considering that Jon and Kate's marriage has slowly, painfully dissolved over the course of the past few months for the entire world to see. Reports Entertainment Weekly:

Jon and Kate Gosselin, stars of the popular TLC reality series Jon & Kate Plus Eight, will announce on Monday that they will file for divorce, according to Radaronline.com. The website is reporting that a source confirmed that Kate recently met with a divorce lawyer.

Here's the interesting thing: the Gosselins are contracted to do forty episodes this year, and the season just recently started. And since this week's episode was supposed to be about Mother's Day, that means the show has only a one-month turn-around time. Which means TLC will be documenting the entire icky process for months, and we'll get to see it all pretty much as it happens.

Or not, if we don't watch. Jon's immature; Kate's a bitch; they both made the questionable decision to stick their lives in front of a camera in the first place, and we can mock them for years to come. (Kate: the hair. Really?) But TLC has to take the blame for destroying the family, too, since by all indications it's the constant publicity that did them in. When you're not sure who to be mad at, it's usually because everybody's complicit.

Overall it's just a really ugly situation that's going to result in eight damaged kids who didn't do anything wrong. The original special that sparked the TV show was called Surviving Sextuplets and Twins, which, since Jon and Kate didn't survive it, is now the most depressing misnomer ever.

   I as a mom believe that if you have children the way the gosselins did and wanted to document it you only do it until a certain age. I think it was Kate who turned it into a business to make money and go on free trips and receive free clothing for the kids. She made Jon a passive robot to do everything she asked and took his manhood away and as i read she was the one who was accused first of having an affair, as far as Jon he reclaimed his manhood and i believe will be a great dad. Shame on her to pick money over her marriage and what did she end up with, everyone in the family and her friends not speaking to her (ha ha) they knew what she was doing was just exploiting her kids for money, i hope Jon gets someone who appreciates him for him and not a puppet.....thanks for reading

No wonder Jon started seeing someone else, if I acted the way Kate always did towards Jon, my husband and I would be divorced too. I like how Kate says they have it so rough. I wish I could have my OWN home, let alone a one million dollar home. It must be mice. She's the pot calling the kettle black, so so speak, telling the world basically that Jon was the problem, when, in reality, Kate's just as bad. It's nice to see that Jon has moved on, but I do feel really bad for the kids, they deserve some kind of explanation as to why their parents aren't together anymore, when Kate had stated on TV herself that the reason her and Jon reneved their vows was to ensure that they were going to be together forever. And to make a promise like that to your kids on TV, that's just sad. It goes to show how much Kate really loves her kids, when she tells them that "mommy and daddy" will be together forever, and then a year later, they divorce. Maybe that's what she meant by "loving someone forever". I will not watch the show anymore, because it's all about the money, not about the kids. I hope your proud of yourself.
