It's time to admit it - Johnny Depp is the greatest actor on the planet

He's so good that he can actually be forgiven for "21 Jump Street" (although I'd bet he probably has a restraining order against all representatives for Richard Greico, who would probably sacrifice at least one testicle for a reunion show.)

How can anybody pick on an actor who transformed Willy Wonka from know-it-all moralist to Michael Jackson-like weirdo and still not scare audiences away from the box office?

To tell you the truth I could. I don't mind Johnny picking up his bags and leaving America. But for France? FRANCE?!?!? The smelly armpit of the western world? A nation so loony that Al Qaeda doesn't even want to bomb it? (please people, sarcasm alert, relax!)

Alas, I can't even pick on that. One simple reason - he knows to keep his mouth shut. We live in a world where Tom Cruise wants to educate us on psychology. We are on the planet where Sean Penn wants us to know that he understands Iraq better than anybody else. Heck, we live in a society where 78.9 percent of Hollywood will dictate that the United States will be all good and right if run by the Democratic Party no matter which wooden post they prop up as a leader. Johnny Depp generally sticks with the acting.

I say "generally" in the sense that he's philanthropic in the best way. With all the dopey charities actors and actresses turn into causes (PETA being a good example), Johnny is putting his (eek!) Francs into building a big cannon to shoot Hunter S. Thompson's ashes.

Johnny Depp for President. May he put Tim Burton and John Waters in the Administration. I don't how well that group could run a nation but it would sure put fun back in politics...
