Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince leaves us for 2009

Was it something I said, Harry Potter 6? Some way I acted? I really wanted to see you in November, but now your parents (you know, Warner Bros.) are saying I won't be able to visit you until July 2009. That's a really long ways away.

I know, I know. It's not me -- it's last year's writers strike. You always use that as an excuse. Because the strike slowed things down, Warner Bros. doesn't have enough in their summer schedule for 2009, and since they're currently riding high on Dark Knight money, they need you a lot more next year than right now. I get it. It makes sense. It just...hurts.

You know who it hurts even more, though? Entertainment Weekly. I mean, you guys are family -- you're both owned by Time Warner, after all -- and yet you didn't even tell it you were moving to 2009. Now it's stuck with you on the cover of its Fall Preview Edition. That's embarrassing, like, "Dewey Beats Truman" embarrassing, as an EW writer points out.
