Grindhouse next up for Tarantino

Looking forward to the opening of Grindhouse this week. As a fan of most things Tarantino, it's unfortunate that the gap between his projects is so vast. If I'm not mistaken, Robert Rodriguez has done seven Spy Kids sequels since the last time Quentin had a movie out.

The filmmakers are billing their new Austin-made collaboration "Grindhouse," which opens at multiple venues Friday after Wednesday's regional premiere at the Paramount Theatre, as a "sleaze-filled saga of an exploitation double feature." Rodriguez's half is the gory zombie thriller "Planet Terror"; Tarantino's is the car-chase/slasher drama "Death Proof."

The film looks a little over the top, but how can you go wrong with any project that brings together Rose McGowan and Sydney Poitier?
