Depp, Farrell, and Law give their salaries to Ledger's daughter

After Heath Ledger's untimely death, it was revealed that the actor had an outdated will that included nothing for his daughter Matilda, whom he shared with ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams. I seem to recall that Ledger's family assured the press that Matilda would be financially "taken care of," but all we got was the occasional tabloid rumor that hinted nothing was being resolved as quickly as it should be.

Now we can ignore all that ugliness, though. See, Ledger was halfway finished filming a Terry Gilliam movie called The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus when he died; in order to keep the film going, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law all joined the project as different incarnations of Ledger's character. (It's a fantasy movie.) And now, according to a report in Hello Magazine, all three actors are donating their entire salaries to Matilda.

The article quotes Gilliam: "They didn't take money - it goes to Heath's daughter. That's extraordinary. And wonderful and when you're part of that, you think, 'Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning'."
