Cameron Crowe is back, baby

No, that's not Cameron Crowe, it's Reese Witherspoon. The relation is that Columbia just won a bidding war for a new project from Crowe starring Reese Witherspoon and Ben Stiller.

The plot details have not been revealed except that it's a contemporary "romantic comedy adventure."

Crowe is of course the writer/director behind Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky, and Elizabethtown. And no, I'm not about to start mocking the last two, because I actually liked them. Yes, both of them. Go away, haters. The point is, the grouping of Crowe, Witherspoon, and Stiller has the potential to be dynamite.

Almost Famous was the man's masterpiece, though. Try to find a more perfect film. Go ahead, try - you can't.
