You heard it here first, kids. Someone is making a movie of Atlas Shrugged, and it's going to star Angelina Jolie.
Have you read this book? It's like 1100 or so pages of really really small font. It weighs about two pounds. After I read it, I made a friend of mine read it so I could ask someone what they thought of a 100+ page speech (no, I'm not kidding).
This book is PAINFULLY repetitive. And uber-conservative. What's a rampant lefty like Angelina Jolie doing in a movie like that? And as Dagny, who is very sexually submissive (there are a few scenes of oblique and uncomfortable sounding sex). Can you picture Angie in any way shape or form as a submissive woman? I think she rules the Jolie/Pitt household in every way, don't you?
And, let's face it, the last "big book" made into a movie that didn't feature a hobbit was "All the King's Men", which sucked. Big time.
I dunno, people. Has anyone out there read this book? Do you think it can be turned into a movie? How long do you think it's going to be?
