Angels & Demons & Hanks & Howard

Angels & Demons, the follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, was postponed during the writers strike a few months ago but is now hurrying up and getting itself filmed before the potential actors strike at the end of the summer.

That's Stellan Skarsgard on the left, with Tom Hanks next to him. Luckily the Hanks Man is sporting a shorter haircut than the, let's face it, stupid-looking cut he had in Da Vinci. On the right is an old-timey gold prospector, whoops, I mean director Ron Howard.

Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, who gave the world Batman and Robin and Lost in Space and somehow won an Oscar for the "Let's guess which people are imaginary" game that was A Beautiful Mind, turned the Dan Brown book - which was a prequel to Da Vinci Code - into a sequel, using what they call "Hollywood magic," a.k.a. a higher salary than last time.

It's set to come out May 15th, 2009.
