A new Lowe (Heh, that was too easy)

More wrinkles in the painful Rob Lowe nanny case. I've been trying to stay as far away from this one as possible, but it's kind of hard when you're running a site about celebrities. So into the fray we go...

The old news: Rob Lowe filed a lawsuit against two ex-nannies and a chef, claiming that they were involved in a scheme to extort $1.5 million from him and, among other things, that they had sex parties in his bedroom when he wasn't home. One of the nannies, Jessica Gibson, subsequently accused both him and his wife of sexual harassment; check out a video of her on Today at the bottom of this story.

The new news: the second nanny, Laura Boyce, filed a cross complaint, this time wholly against his wife, claiming that she "Asking Boyce about the size of Boyce's boyfriend's penis," among other borderline unprintable things; you can read it all at TMZ.

I guess it's only a matter of time before the chef, Pete Clements, files his own lawsuit. Both the nannies share Gloria Allred as their lawyer.

I guess we have to trust that the truth will come out, because we wouldn't dare speculate which side is telling the truth. It's true that celebrities are insane and have occasionally illegal senses of entitlement; unfortunately, it's also true that some of us normal folk like to lie about stuff in order to make a lot of money. It does seem to have been a good move by Lowe to make the first strike, though.
